Simple! Fruit Kanten Made with Your Favorite Juice Simple! Fruit Kanten Made with Your Favorite Juice
I wanted to make a snack with my kids. Store-bought kanten has a bit of a peculiar smell to it, and didn't really want to use it to make a snack, so I simply made it at home. It is pretty and colorful, refreshingly healthy, and fun. This just might become my summer dessert. The constitution and texture of the jelly will vary according to the kanten. It will fall apart if there is too much water. You can make this as sweet as you like, but there won't be much water if there is too much sugar. It will become a bit watery if you don't eat it right away, but please dish it up along with that water. You can also make this with vegetable juice. Recipe by Mikki-an cookpad.japan -
Nancy's Homemade Bread Nancy's Homemade Bread
Nancy has been making bread for 40+ years to give away to people who needed encouragement, were sick, were friends/family, or just needed a meal. Nancy's smile was warmer than her bread and with each loaf came the love of Christ.Nancy is my mom. Every Monday for as long as I can remember she can be found making her bread. When I was in school the smell of fresh bread met me at the end of the driveway and we all knew there was a hot slice waiting for us inside. Many years, and 2 generations later, my kids (and the other grand-kids) and her great-grand-kids who make that same trek are still welcomed by the lingering smell of fresh bread to receive her unbelievable love wrapped in a buttery loaf.Enjoy this recipe and be sure to give a loaf away to continue the love of my amazing mother.Video tutorial: https://youtu.be/mD59Rfk70Fg Randy -
Simmered Amberjack and Daikon Radish Simmered Amberjack and Daikon Radish
By sprinkling the amberjack with salt, pouring boiling water over it, and rinsing it in cold water, you can get rid of its fishy smell. If you are using the bones and head, wash it particularly well. User "Mhmozart" commented that a restaurant trick is to cut up the bones and fish head, and soak in cold running water with a trickle coming out of the tap for about 2 hours before simmering it. This soaking gets rid of the fishiness, and the head and bones taste good even when cold. For 2 servings. Recipe by ochikeron. cookpad.japan -
