Saw some neat recipes for Christmas treats. So the daughter and I have been making Christmas treats all week. In this recipe it is important to use the gel food coloring too much moisture will seize the ganache.
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the brownies as directed by manufacturer.
- 2
When done place pan on a wire rack to cool completely.
- 3
When cooled, place oreos in a gallon ziplock bag. Use a meat mallet to crush cookies. Leave a little chunky, don't crush too fine. Poke holes in the brownie with a butter knife.
- 4
Place white chocolate and heavy cream in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave 30 seconds at a time, stirring well each time, until the mixture is smooth and well melted. Quickly add the extract and the green gel coloring. 4 to 6 drops for a lime green color. Microwave for 30 seconds more if mixture starts to stiffen up.
- 5
Quickly pour mixture over brownies. Spread to get down into the holes. Arrange crushed cookies over the top and add desired amount of sprinkles.
- 6
Refrigerate for an hour before serving. Enjoy.

Caramel Brownies Caramel Brownies
I've only had chocolate flavored brownies. I wondered if could I make them with caramel using white chocolate? I tried it out and they came out pretty well. These are sweeter and more delicious if the caramel is not too pronounced. In Step 5, if the chocolate doesn't melt completely, keep microwaving a few seconds at a time until it does.Pour leftover caramel over the brownies, or mix into whipped cream and served on the side. I wanted a pretty seasonal treat for Christmas.During Step 8, use a tea strainer to sprinkle on the powdered sugar little by little.Do not use thick paper for the stencil. I used relatively thin writing paper so I could flatten it out on top of the cake more easily. For a 20 x 20 cm cake tin (7.9 x 7.9 inches). Recipe by Ayatan. cookpad.japan -
