Steps

Soak daliya in sufficient water for 2 hours.

Remove water and transfer in pressure cooker. Add coconut slices. Pressure cook to eight whistles.

Let it be cooled. Dry roast poppy seeds in small pan.

Transfer daliya in pan. Put it on gas on low flame. Add poppy seeds, jaggery and ginger powder. Lastly add nutmeg powder.

Cook for 10 minutes so that jaggery will melt completely. Stir occasionally. Add dry fruits and resins.

Cover it and cook for another 5 minutes. Daliya kheer is ready. Garnish with almonds.

Serve hot. You may add ghee and milk or only ghee or only milk while serving. You may serve it as it is.
