Ingredients

  1. 2pds beef stew meat
  2. 4carrots, sliced
  3. 3potatoes, diced
  4. 1onion, chopped
  5. 1 stalkcelery, sliced
  6. 1 clovegarlic
  7. 1bay leaf
  8. Salt and pepper
  9. Burgundy cooking wine
  10. 1 1/2 cupbeef broth or tomato juice
  11. 1 tspWorcestershire

Steps

  1. 1

    Brown meat

  2. 2

    Add onion and garlic and cook until tender

  3. 3

    Stir in tomato juice, wine and seasonings

  4. 4

    Cook covered for 45 minutes

  5. 5

    Add diced vegetables and cook 45 minutes

  6. 6

    Add cornstarch to thicken
