  • 2pds beef stew meat
  • 4carrots, sliced
  • 3potatoes, diced
  • 1onion, chopped
  • 1 stalkcelery, sliced
  • 1 clovegarlic
  • 1bay leaf
  • Salt and pepper
  • Burgundy cooking wine
  • 1 1/2 cupbeef broth or tomato juice
  • 1 tspWorcestershire

Steps

  1. 1

    Brown meat

  2. 2

    Add onion and garlic and cook until tender

  3. 3

    Stir in tomato juice, wine and seasonings

  4. 4

    Cook covered for 45 minutes

  5. 5

    Add diced vegetables and cook 45 minutes

  6. 6

    Add cornstarch to thicken
