Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbground deer meat
  • 1 lbground Italian sausage
  • 2 clovesgarlic, crushed
  • 1/2 cminced onion
  • 28 ozcrushed tomatoes
  • 13 oztomato sauce
  • 12 oztomato paste
  • 1/2 cwater
  • 2 tbspwhite sugar
  • 4 tbspchopped parsley, divided
  • 1 1/2 tspdried basil leaves
  • 1 1/2 tspsalt, divided
  • 1 tspItalian seasoning
  • 1/2 tspfennel seed
  • 1/4 tspground black pepper
  • 10 ozready to bake lasagna noodles
  • 16 ozricotta cheese
  • 1egg
  • 3/4 lbmozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 3/4 cgrated Parmesan cheese

Steps

  1. 1

    Brown meat, mix in all tomatoes, seasoning, sugar and water reserving part parsley and salt for ricotta mix

    Combine ricotta cheese, egg, and remaining parsley and salt in bowl

    Preheat oven to 375

    Layer in 9x13 baking pan. Layer order: 1/3 Meat sauce, noodles, 1/2 ricotta mixture, 1/2 sliced mozzarella, 1/3 meat sauce, 1/2 Parmesan, noodles, 1/2 ricotta, 1/2 mozzarella, 1/3 meat sauce, 1/2 Parmesan

    Cover with foil (spray foil with Pam) bake for 25 mins, uncover and bake for 25 more minutes
