Heat oil and butter in a large, nonstick skillet that has a lid

Saute kielbasa and onion until onions are tender. Add garlic and saute another 30 seconds.

Add broth, beans, rice and seasonings. Heat to a boil, then cover and reduce heat to LOW.

Simmer about 15-20 minutes until rice is done. Stir occasionally to make sure rice doesn't stick or burn to the bottom of the skillet. Add a bit of water if needed.
