During Ganesh Utsav, a variety of modak and laddoo are offered as prasad to Lord Ganesha. I have also made Panjiri Modak as an offering for the festival.
Steps
- 1
Gather all the necessary ingredients to make the modak.
- 2
First, measure out the mixed flour and whole wheat flour. Heat ghee in a pan, add the flours, and roast over low heat, stirring continuously. Roast until the flour is golden and fragrant.
- 3
Add the chopped cashews, almonds, charoli nuts, fox nuts, dried dates, and fennel seeds. Roast for 2 more minutes. Then add the shredded coconut, sugar, and milk powder, and mix everything well.
- 4
Add the remaining ghee and milk, and mix thoroughly until well combined.
- 5
Let the mixture cool slightly. Grease a modak mold with ghee, add a little shredded coconut, then fill with the panjiri mixture and shape into modak.
- 6
Make all the modak in the same way and offer as prasad.
