Boil and chop the ashgourd

Dry roast the dals, cumin and red chillies. Then grind, now add turmeric powder, asofedita, coriander powder and red chilli powder. Sambhar masala is ready

In a pan, heat oil, add mustard seeds, curry leaves and ginger paste. Now add ashgourd, drumstick and, salt and SAMBHAR MASALA. Let it boil. Add coconut paste and mix well. Cook covered for 5mts

Ashgourd Sambhar is ready to serve with steamed rice
