3/4 lbItalian sausage link(s), browned or grilled
12 oztomato paste
32 oztomato puree
5 clovesgarlic, finely chopped
1sm onion, finely chopped
1rib celery, finely chopped
1sm carrot, finely chopped
1sm bell pepper, finely chopped
2 tspbasil
2 tsporegano
2 tspthyme
1bay leaf
1 tspblack pepper, to taste
dashred pepper flakes, to taste
1 tspsalt, to taste
2 tspolive oil
4 cupswater
1 cupwine
pasta

Steps

Saute vegetables in olive oil until tender

Add canned goods, water, wine, and seasonings.

Bring to a simmer for several hours

Add thickly cut sausage and serve over pasta
