French Onion Roast Beef, Slow Cooker

Tried a different recipe, this is loosely based off of that one. We were not a fan of this other recipe, but the technique was solid. So here i am using the technique, but completely different recipe. Since I am an onion fan, French onion seemed like a good choice. As it turned out, this was awesome! This is one of those that when you eat it, you can't believe how good it turned out.

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Since there are only two of us, i have a small slow cooker. I think it is a 1 1/2 quart (1.5 liter). Keep that in mind. And about a 2 pound piece of meat.
- 2
Slice your onion into rounds
- 3
Put them in the bottom of the slow cooker
- 4
Trim your meat, cut it into 1 1/2 inch cubes (give or take)
- 5
Put the cubed meat on top of the onion rings.
- 6
Add the French onion soup
- 7
Add about 1/3 can of water
- 8
Now I covered it, put it in the fridge over night, started it the next morning
- 9
Cook it on low for 8 hours. Then we added 2 cans of tri-beans (kidney, pinto and navy). Cook 2 more hours, still on low.
- 10
Initially we thought to eat it plain, however, at the last minute my wife wanted rice. This was a good choice.

Best Beef Roast Slow Cooker/Crockpot/Ninja Best Beef Roast Slow Cooker/Crockpot/Ninja
Love this roast, so tender and good! I cook mine in my ninja cooker. It makes Alot of gravy. I served it over some steam rice I made in my rice cooker. Although, in my pic I just spooned a little bit of gravy from the pot over mine, but you can put however much you want over yours, because it makes a good bit. I also served this with my Mexican cream cheese corn which is also very good!!! You can also serve this roast on hoagies sandwiches, and dip into a side of the gravy. I do it both ways sometimes. Delicious Roast Beef Delicious Roast Beef
I made this to entertain my in-laws.Be sure to bring the meat to room temperature before roasting it. (The reason is that if you start roasting the meat while it's still cold from the refrigerator, the inner part will be very rare.)Don't cut the meat when it's fresh out of the oven (if you cut it then the juices will flow right out). Plus, it tastes absolutely fabulous!!This will keep for 3 days in the fridge.I usually make this the day before serving. For from 4 servings. Recipe by nmkana cookpad.japan -

My Roast Beef Recipe My Roast Beef Recipe
I adapted a recipe that was in my oven's instruction manual and added garlic as well as the resting step. The sauce is my original. After rubbing in the ingredients, if you let the meat rest, the flavors will penetrate and add flavor.Add the meat juices to the sauce to make it richer. If you are serving this to adults, add plenty of black pepper and it'll be a great appetizer with drinks. You can use shortening and Krazy Salt instead of the combined ingredients if you like.
