Ingredients

20 minutes
2 serves
  1. 1/2 cupmasoor daal
  2. 1/8 cupMung yellow daal
  3. 1Tomato
  4. 1Onion
  5. 2 clovesgarlic
  6. 2Green chillies
  7. 1 inchgrated ginger
  8. 2 tbspFresh coriander
  9. 1 tbsplemon juice
  10. 1 tspsalt
  11. 1 tspchilli powder
  12. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  13. 1 tbspcoriander powder
  14. 1 Glasswater
  15. For Tempering
  16. 1 tbspoil
  17. 1/2 tspmustard seeds
  18. 1/2 tbspCumin seeds
  19. 1/4 tspAsafoetida
  20. 1Bay leaf
  21. 2cloves
  22. 1cinnamon stick
  23. 1Dry red chilli
  24. 7-8Curry leaves

Steps

20 minutes
  1. 1

    Take Daal in a Bowl,wash 3-4 times,then soak for 5-7 minutes.
    After that drain the water.
    Finley chop tomato onion chillies garlic and grate the ginger.
    Keep everything ready.

    Add oil in a pressure cooker.
    Add mustard and cumin seeds to splutter.then asafoetida.
    Now add chilli,garlic, curry leaves, Bay leaf, cinnamon stick, cloves and dry red chilli.
    After that add onion and sauté till soft,then add tomato and salt.saute till tomato gets mushy.

    Now time to add Chilli, turmeric and coriander powder and little water to cook Masala well,then add daal.
    Mix with masala then add water and Fresh coriander.
    When water starts boiling,close the lid and Cook for 2 whistles then switch off the gas.

    After cooling down the pressure cooker,open it,add lemon juice.
    Boil for 2 minutes again.then off the gas.
    Yummy tasty masoor mung daal is ready.
    Transfer in a bowl and serve with roti and salad..
    Enjoy..
