Ingredients

20 minutes
serves 2 servings
  1. Batter for Muthiyas :
  2. 1 cupleftover cooked rice
  3. 1 tbspbesan
  4. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  5. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  6. 1 tsp coriander - cumin seeds powder
  7. 1/2 tsp garam masala
  8. 1 tsp sugar
  9. 2 tbsp sour curds
  10. 1 tsp water
  11. Salt (for batter)
  12. Tempering : 👇
  13. 1 tsp oil
  14. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  15. 1/2 tsp asafoetida
  16. 1 cup water
  17. Other Ingredients for the gravy :
  18. 1/ 4 tsp red chilli powder
  19. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  20. 1/2 tsp coriander - cumin seeds powder
  21. Salt
  22. Chopped coriander to garnish

Steps

20 minutes
  1. 1

    Batter : Take cooked rice, besan, the dry spices & sour curds in a plate. Add sugar & water & make a very soft dough. Keep aside.

    Tempering : Take oil in a pan, add mustard seeds & let them splutter. Add asafoetida. Add water & give it 1 boil. Add all the dry spices for the gravy. Mix.

    Now grease your palms & make small muthiyas from the dough. Drop them in the boiling water. Cover & cook for 5 minutes.

    Switch off the flame. Garnish with chopped coriander. Serve Bhat Na Muthiya piping hot.
