Whenever I have chicken, I often end up making this! It's easy to cook whole and tastes great.
Cooking Instructions

Add vegetable oil to a frying pan and place the chicken skin-side down to sear until browned.

Flip the chicken, then add water, sake, mirin, and sugar, and cover with a lid.

Reduce the heat to slightly below medium and continue cooking, flipping the chicken several times.

When the liquid has reduced as shown in the picture, remove the chicken and sauce to a plate.

Let it cool before slicing, as cutting it while hot may cause it to fall apart.

It's ready to serve!
