Ingredients

4 people
  1. 500 gbeef mince (double if you want more)
  2. 1 tablespoonssalt
  3. 1 tablespooncracked pepper
  4. 4Brioche Buns
  5. Halficeberg lettuce (I break off the pieces to keep them whole) (optional)
  6. 2Tomatoes (optional)
  7. 1Sliced Red Onion (optional)
  8. 4 slicesAmerican cheese
  9. 4 tablespoonswhatever sauce you like (I used Big Mac sauce but ketchup and mustard is great too)
  10. 1x Burger press or use the bottom of an oiled stainless steal pot

    Place your beef mince into a large mixing bowl. Add Salt and Pepper. Mix.

  2. 2

    Heat a skillet or grill to high heat and coat with oil. Take some beef mince and roll it into a ball. Place onto hot fry pan and press down hard, very hard, with a burger press.

  3. 3

    Keep pressure for 30-40 seconds, remove press and flip beef. You will know you’ve done well if it has a nice char to it. Add salt while you cook the other side. I’m rather generous with the salt here but that’s up to you.

  4. 4

    Once a minute has passed on the second side add American cheese on top and allow to melt. Once melted, remove from pan and serve in bun with sauce, salad immediately.
