Preheat the oven to 340°F (170°C).
Peel and slice the potatoes thinly using a mandoline, then rinse them.
Peel and mince the garlic. - 2
In a saucepan, combine the sour cream, milk, and garlic.
Add the potatoes and nutmeg.
Stir to combine.
Season with salt and pepper.
Bring to a boil, then simmer on low heat for 15 minutes. - 3
Pour the mixture into a small baking dish (for a nice thick layer).
Spread evenly.
Bake for 40 minutes.
If the top browns too quickly, cover the dish.
Serve with a salad.
