Shrimp paste is salty in flavour and has a strong preserved shrimp smell. Its a seasoning used in cooking vege, chicken and meat. We use Lee Kum Kee brand for steaming with pork belly and this dish is savoury, salty and sweet, goes well with white rice. It is one of my favorite dish and everytime I have this must add more rice! Chinese Cabbage & Bok Choy Salted Pork Belly in Sauce Chinese Cabbage & Bok Choy Salted Pork Belly in Sauce
Back when I was really into salty sauces, I made this using everything I had at home. The vegetables will become tough if you overcook them, so if you think they could be cooked just a bit more, that's a good place to stop the heat. You use the water-dissolved starch to add thickness to the water that's come out from the vegetables. So I think it's okay to only use a little water-dissolved starch. Recipe by chima@. cookpad.japan -
Crispy Thinly Sliced Pork with Japanese Leeks and Salty Sauce Crispy Thinly Sliced Pork with Japanese Leeks and Salty Sauce
Our family loves leek-salt sauce with yakiniku (grill or griddle cooked meat) than soy sauce based sauce. The leek-salt sauce they serve at yakiniku restaurant we frequent is so delicious, and seemed easy to recreate, so I tried making it myself. It goes well with chicken karaage (deep fried chicken), so I tried it with thinly sliced pork that was on sale. I also recommend it with crispy chicken skin.I had a lot of oil so I deep fried the meat this time, but you could shallow fry in a frying pan instead. You can coat the meat with potato starch, but if you add rice flour it will be really crispy. The sauce is perfect with stir fried or grilled meats too! Recipe by Recoty cookpad.japan -

My husband likes this sort of simple cooking... so I made this per his request! If you want this dish to be really hearty, use a fatty cut of pork like pork belly. You can omit the vegetables if you like, but it's a heartier dish with them! For 2 servings. Recipe by John Lee Cooker cookpad.japan -
Grilled Pork with Fish Sauce Grilled Pork with Fish Sauce
I love shio-buta (salt-cured pork), but adjusting the amount of salt is difficult. So I tried using nam pla for the marinade, and it went very well and the result was delicious. After marinating (or abandoning it?) for a week, it became really nice.It starts to mature after 3 days, so please let it marinate for at least that long. Please adjust the cooking time and temperature depending on your oven.I used the "two-way heat" setting on my oven, which doesn't require preheating. For about 10 slices. Recipe by Nekoyanagi shouten cookpad.japan -
Garlic Scapes and Pork Belly Fried in Oyster Sauce Garlic Scapes and Pork Belly Fried in Oyster Sauce
I always make this when I can get my hands on garlic scapes.Soil often gets stuck in between the garlic scapes, so wash well while peeling them. The garli scapes are best when they've wilted. The mushrooms are tasty when mixed well with the sauce. Leave them in for a while. For 2 servings. Recipe by Nekoyanagi shouten cookpad.japan -
Pork with Mushroom Soy Milk Sauce Pork with Mushroom Soy Milk Sauce
Grated ginger in the sauce will make people who don't like soy milk forget that there's soy milk in it. This is a great way to enjoy meat with a rich mushroom sauce. You can use meat intended for making sliced ginger pork, or any cut of pork.I added sugar to make this sauce richer, but it still tastes good without any sugar. If you don't like soy milk, add a generous amount of ginger, or use double cream instead!I also recommend using a generous amount of ginger for those who are on a diet. Beef and Pork Hamburger Steaks With Salt-Leek Sauce Beef and Pork Hamburger Steaks With Salt-Leek Sauce
I love beef tongue with leek-salt sauce! I used inexpensive mixed ground meat to make hamburgers using that type of sauce. If you are cooking these at a table on a griddle, make them thin and press down hard on them with a spatula, and also make them bite size. Enjoy with a squeeze of lemon on so that they taste like beef tongue.Microwaved onions won't cool down immediately, so if you complete step 1 before everything else, your workflow will go smoothly.I wanted to have the feeling of eating "meat!" so I didn't add any fillers or binders such as bread crumbs or egg.
