Shrimp mayo sounds crazy as a pizza flavor, but it’s actually pretty common in Japan! I think we should be putting shrimp more often on pizzas 🙂‍↕️ For the #crazypizzachallenge!

Ingredients

1 hr 30 mins
1 10in pizza
  1. dough:
  2. 1 cupbread flour
  3. 1/4 cup+ 1/8 cup water
  4. 1 tspinstant yeast
  5. 1/2 tspsugar
  6. 1 tspolive oil
  7. 1/4 tspsalt
  8. sauce:
  9. quarter onion, sliced
  10. 1garlic clove, minced
  11. 1/2 cupJapanese kewpie mayo
  12. olive oil, for sautéing
  13. drizzle:
  14. 3 tbspketchup
  15. 3 tbspJapanese kewpie mayo
  16. toppings:
  17. 12peeled shrimp
  18. 1/4 cupcorn
  19. 3/4 cupshredded cheese

Cooking Instructions

1 hr 30 mins
  1. 1

Mix all the dough ingredients together in a bowl until a shaggy dough forms. Pour in the water gradually as you may not need the additional 1/8 cup - you just want it so the dough can be formed into a cohesive ball, not too wet. Cover and let rest for 30 mins.

  2. 2

Meanwhile, make the base sauce. Start by sautéing the onions and garlic in olive oil over medium heat, until soft. Turn the heat off and mix in the mayonnaise off stovetop.

  3. 3

Roll out the dough into a circle on a floured surface. Poke holes on the dough with a fork.

  4. 4

Assemble the pizza: spread the mayo sauce, and top with the shrimp, corn, and shredded cheese.

  5. 5

Bake at 425 for 13-15 mins. In the meantime, combine equal parts ketchup and mayo. Drizzle with the sauce and enjoy :)

Hi! My name is Ayaka and I'm a Japanese/Korean - American with a love for eating good food, which led to a passion of trying to make said good food. What started off as a necessity in college to cut costs bloomed into something I love as I kept experimenting in the kitchen. I love sharing traditional cultural recipes and recipe ideas that come at random times in the day (my first savory oats series idea came to me in the shower, which I then proceeded to make immediately after at 1am from being so excited lol).Hope you like these recipes - I'd love to know what you think of them!Watch my recipe videos here!:TikTok: @ayaeats (tiktok.com/@ayaeats)Instagram: @aya_eats_ (instagram.com/@aya_eats_)
