Ingredients

40 minutes
4 servings
  • 1 cupall purpose flour
  • 2eggs
  • 1/3 cupsugar
  • 1/2 cupmilk
  • 1/4 cupoil
  • 3 tbspfresh orange juice
  • 1.5 tspbaking powder
  • Pinchsalt (optional)

Steps

40 minutes
  1. 1

    Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line your cake pan.

  2. 2

    In a bowl, beat eggs and sugar until light and fluffy (2–3 minutes).

  3. 3

    Add the milk, oil, orange juice, and zest. Mix to combine.

  4. 4

    In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

  5. 5

    Add dry ingredients to wet, mixing just until smooth—don’t overmix.

  6. 6

    Pour into the prepared pan. Tap gently to remove air bubbles.

  7. 7

    Bake for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

    Let it cool, then enjoy as is or with a glaze.
