Ingredients

  1. 2 kgChana Daal
  2. 250 gmsMaash Daal
  3. 250 gmsMoong Daal
  4. 250 gmsMasoor Daal
  5. 250 gmsWheat grains
  6. 250 gmsRice
  7. Oil 3+3/4 cup
  8. 4Onions
  9. 1 KgChicken
  10. 2 tbspGinger garlic
  11. Salt to taste
  12. 4 tbspChilli powder
  13. 1 tbspTurmeric
  14. 3Black cardamoms
  15. 1 tbspBlack pepper
  16. 1 tbspGaram masala powder
  17. 1 tbspCumin powder
  18. 1/4 tbspNutmeg
  19. 1/4 tbspMace
  20. Green chillies
  21. Ginger
  22. Fried onion

Cooking Instructions

    Soak all the grains overnight.

  2. 2

    Heat 3 cups oil in a pan.

  3. 3

    Fry onion till light golden.

  4. 4

    Add in chicken and cook till it changes colour.

  5. 5

    Add in ginger garlic and stir well.

  6. 6

    Mix in Chilli powder, salt and turmeric.

  7. 7

    Add in cardamoms and all the grains.

  8. 8

    Cook covered for 1 hour.

  9. 9

    Mix together remaining spices with little water.

  10. 10

    Add spice mix and remaining oil to the haleem and stir well.

  11. 11

    Add in ginger, chillies and onion.

  12. 12

    Serve hot.
