Ingredients

20 mins
6 servings
  1. 4 cupsAll-purpose Flour
  2. 12 TBunsalted butter, frozen and grated
  3. 2 TBbaking powder
  4. 1 tspsalt
  5. 1 TBhoney
  6. 2 cupsvery cold buttermilk
  7. Honey butter
  8. 4 TBbutter
  9. 2 TBhoney

Cooking Instructions

20 mins
  1. 1

In a large mixing bowl add your dry ingredients, mix well. Add in your cold grated butter and mix until the butter is thoroughly combined into the flour

  2. 2

Add in your honey, and little by little add in your buttermilk mixing until you get a shaggy but all together dough. You might not need all two cups of buttermilk depending on your flour and climate. So play it by feel.

  3. 3

Once most of your dough becomes shaggy roll your dough out onto a lightly floured surface and Knead until the biscuit dough comes together into one ball.

  4. 4

With a nice floured surface, roll your dough out about 1 inch thin. Fold your dough over onto itself like an envelope and roll that out into a thick 3-4 inch square.

  5. 5

Dip your biscuit cutter into flour each time before cutting out the dough. You should get 8-10 nice sized biscuits out of this recipe

  6. 6

Freeze your biscuits for 20 minutes while you preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.

  7. 7

    7. After 20 minutes bake your biscuits for 25-30 minutes until the tops are browned and biscuits are fully cooked in the center.

  8. 8

    8. While your biscuits bake make your honey butter by melting together the honey and butter ina bowl in the microwave for 30 seconds.

  9. 9

    9. Take your biscuits out the oven and baste with your honey butter. I

like to put them back in the oven for an additional 5 minutes until they're golden brown. When they come out the second time I baste them with more honey butter
