Rinse 1 cup urad dal well to remove the starchy coating. Rinse it at least 2 times then drain water.
Add it to a bowl and Soak in water for 2 hours. - 2
Keep it undisturbed for 2 hours.
Can you see how well it is soaked After 2 hours rinse it again and drain water completely. - 3
Grinding - To a mixer jar - add the drained urad dal. Add 3-4 tablespoon first to it. Start grinding add little by little later while grinding.
Now transfer the batter to a big wide mixing bowl so that it is easy to mix. - 4
Now to the batter add ½ cup finely chopped onion, 2 small green chillies finely chopped, coriander leaves, salt to taste and a pinch of hing.
Mix it well until evenly distributed - 5
Shape the vada at the tip of your fingers so that it easily flips inside the oil.

Deep Fry vada in hot oil

Once it comes up and looks golden at the sides, turn over using a ladle or the murukku kambi as we call it.
cook until golden brown on both the sides - 8
Once golden brown and crisp its ready to remove.
Remove the crispy vadas. - 9
An your yummy vada is ready to serve
