While all of these are quite common, there's one prasad variation that is quite unique and can be prepared on Janmashtami without any hassle. We're talking about makhana paag.

While all of these are quite common, there's one prasad variation that is quite unique and can be prepared on Janmashtami without any hassle. We're talking about makhana paag.

First of all heat 2 tablespoon of ghee in a pan. Roast the makhana till crisp. Take it out. Then add coconut flakes in 1 tablespoon ghee in same pan and fry until golden. Keep it aside.

Now add sugar and water in a pan. Cook until 1 string sugar syrup. Add makhana and coconut. Add cardamom and pepper powder.mix it well.

Now stir it continuesly until sugar absorb and makhana coat properly with sugar. Take it out quickly in greasing plate.

Makhana Paag is ready for bhog prasad. Add holy basil leaves and serve to lord Krishna.
