Traditional Tiramisu

When you're feeling down and need a pick-me-up, a little tiramisu can make life brighter. I love all versions of tiramisu, but my favorite is the traditional one—made without whipped cream and with Marsala wine.

Steps
- 1
Separate the egg yolks from the whites. Beat the yolks with the sugar, then add the mascarpone and mix well.
- 2
Gently fold in the egg whites, previously beaten to stiff peaks, being careful not to deflate the mixture.
- 3
Quickly dip the ladyfingers into the coffee mixed with Marsala, and arrange a layer in a baking dish.
- 4
Spread half of the mascarpone cream over the ladyfingers, then continue layering cream and ladyfingers.
- 5
Dust with sifted unsweetened cocoa powder and serve chilled.
