Ingredients

  1. Salt, to taste
  2. Pepper, to taste
  3. 2carrots
  4. 2onions
  5. 3 lbsground beef (about 1400 grams)
  6. 8 1/2 cupstomato sauce or finely crushed tomatoes (about 2000 grams)
  7. 4 ozcooked ham (about 120 grams)
  8. 14 ozlasagna noodles (about 400 grams)
  9. Shredded Comté cheese, enough to cover the top
  10. 3 tablespoonsbutter (about 40 grams)
  11. 1/3 cupall-purpose flour (about 40 grams)
  12. 2 cupsmilk (about 500 ml)
  13. 1 teaspoonherbes de Provence (about 3 grams)

    Slice the onions and finely chop the carrots. Sauté them in a large pot.

    Gradually add the ground beef, mixing well.

    Pour in the tomato sauce and let it simmer.

    Finely chop the cooked ham and add it to the sauce.

    Make a thick béchamel sauce with the butter, flour, and milk.

    In a baking dish, layer the lasagna noodles, sauce, shredded Comté cheese, and herbs, starting with a very thin layer of tomato sauce to prevent sticking.

    Finish with the béchamel sauce and grate more Comté cheese on top.
