In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and sugar, then add the eggs, rum, and vanilla extract.

In a saucepan, bring the milk and butter to a boil.

Gradually whisk the hot milk and butter into the flour mixture.

Let the batter rest for a few hours.

Grease the cannelé molds and fill them two-thirds full with the batter.

Bake at 465°F (240°C) for 10 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 355°F (180°C) and bake for another 35 minutes.
