Ingredients

  • 2 jars(about 16 oz each) grape leaves, drained and rinsed
  • 3 cupschicken broth (freshly prepared) (about 710 ml)
  • 1potato
  • 1lemon
  • For the filling:
  • 1 cupbasmati rice (about 200 grams)
  • 1large tomato, juiced or finely chopped
  • 1medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoonsgarlic-ginger paste
  • 1 cupchopped parsley (about 100 grams)
  • 1/2 cupchopped dill (about 50 grams)
  • 1/4 cupolive oil (about 60 ml)
  • 1 tablespoonsalt
  • 1 tablespoonblack pepper
  • 1chicken bouillon cube

Steps

    Mix all the filling ingredients together and stir well.

    Slice the potato into rounds and arrange them in the bottom of the cooking pot. Cover with a layer of grape leaves.

  3. 3

    Stuff the grape leaves with small amounts of filling, roll them tightly, and arrange them in the pot. Top the final layer with lemon slices.

    After finishing, pour any remaining liquid from the filling into the pot. Add 2 cups chicken broth (about 475 ml) and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer until cooked, adding more broth as needed.
