Note: The above is the normal way of making chutney. If you like ginger/garlic flavour you can add a pc of ginger or 1 no's clove instead of shallots.

Steps

In a mixer add coconut, pottukadala, green chilies, shallots, Curry leaves and salt.

Grind the above ingredients to a smooth paste by adding little amount of water.
- 3
Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds, followed by pottukadala, urad dal,red chilli, and Curry leaves.

Pour this over the coconut mixture and mix well.
- 5
Serve with idli/ dosa
