Ingredients

8-serving
  • 1/4 cuptoor dal
  • 1/2 cupchana dal
  • 1 nosonion chopped
  • 1/4 tspchopped ginger
  • 1/4 tspgreen chili chopped
  • curry leaves chopped few
  • 1/2 tspcoriander leaves
  • 1/2 tsppudina mint leaves /
  • 4 noschillies dry red
  • 1 pinchasafoetida
  • 1/8 tspfennel seeds
  • to tastesalt
  • oil for frying

  1. 1

    Soak both Dal's for 2hrs.

  2. 2

    Grind coarsely these dals along with ginger,green chilli,red chillies, fennel seeds, asafoetida,curry leaves and salt.

  3. 3

    Mix the above with chopped onion,coriander and mint leaves. Check the salt at this stage.

  4. 4

    Wet both hands. Make it into equal sized flat patties of medium thickness.

  5. 5

    Heat oil for deep frying. Once it's hot,reduce to medium flame and fry these patties until golden brown., flipping once in between.

  6. 6

    Serve hot with tea or coffee
