Ingredients

  1. 1/3 cupparwal (pointed gourd) peel, finely chopped
  2. 1/3 cupbottle gourd (Lauki) peel, finely chopped
  3. 1/3 cupridge gourd (Turai) peel, finely chopped & boiled al dente
  4. 1/3 cupraw banana peel, chopped finely and boiled al dente
  5. 1onion, chopped
  6. 2green chilies, chopped
  7. 1 tsp.ginger, grated
  8. 3 tbsp.roasted chana dal (Bengal gram), powdered / besan
  9. 1 tbsp.rice flour
  10. to tastesalt
  11. 1/2 tsp.turmeric powder
  12. 1 tsp.red chili flakes
  13. 1 tbsp.flaxseeds (opt)
  14. 2 tbsp.coriander leaves, chopped
  15. 1egg
  16. 1 tsp.kalonji (nigella seeds)
  17. 1 tsp.garam masala powder
  18. juice of half lime
  19. oil to deep fry

Steps

  1. 1

    In a bowl, combine all the above mentioned ingredients (except oil) and knead into a dough.

    Keep aside for 10-15 minutes.

    Heat oil in a pan. Make round shape balls out of it and gently drop them, few at a time into the hot oil.

    Fry till golden in colour on all sides on a med. flame. Drain on a kitchen towel.

    Serve them hot with tomato sauce or green chutney.
