Chinese Style Hot and Spicy Fresh Crab
5 fresh crabs for £12, this meal would cost loads in a restaurant and most probably won't even be fresh crab
Cooking Instructions

Wash the crabs under cold water
- 2
Put the crab upside down on a chopping board and cut in half
- 3
Chop up spring onion, chillis, garlic and prepare other ingredients
- 4
Fry chillis, chilli sauce, ginger, garlic and spring onion in oil until you can smell the fragrance

Put a tablespoon of potato starch and mix with the warm water. Mix the soy sauce and sugar into the water. Mix well. Stand to the side

Add the crabs to the wok with the chilli mixture and fry together for one minute

Add the bowl of water to the wok. The water should be just up to the top of the crabs

Simmer for 10 minutes with a lid on the wok

Add salt if you need it

Serve in a bowl and enjoy

We brought them home to cook and serve a dinner of cracked claws and legs with homemade mayo and fresh baked sour dough french bread. Shells were reused to make crab chowder soup with the body meat of one crab. We then use the cooked body meat from the other crab to make crab salad on sandwiches.
