Soak black Chana overnight

You can then boil it with water and salt

In a pan heat some oil

Add garlic, jeera, asafoetida and puréed onion

Cook it till it's brown

Then add puréed tomatoes to it

Add turmeric, chilli powder, coriander and garam masala powder to it

Cook for two mins and add the boiled Chana to it

Don't drain the water in which you boiled the Chana

You can add it to the gravy with the Chana depending on the thickness of the curry you desire

Add salt and let it boil for 5 to 7 minutes

Garnish it with coriander

Serve it hot with Chapati or rice
