The more seasoning you use the better. I recommend baking as the oil gets absorbed easily - if you use homemade tofu put some chicken seasoning in the mix for added oomf!

Ingredients

  1. 320 gramsVickys Soy-free Tofu from my profile vic20adamant, sliced into wide strips
  2. 60 mlcoconut milk
  3. 2 tbspmustard
  4. 3 tbspnutritional yeast flakes
  5. 90 gramsbreadcrumbs
  6. 60 gramsplain flour
  7. 1 tspchicken seasoning
  8. 1 tspgarlic powder
  9. 1 tsponion powder
  10. 1/2 tspsalt
  11. 1/4 tsppepper
  12. 3 tbspvegetable oil if frying

Cooking Instructions

    If you want to oven bake rather than fry these, preheat the oven to gas 5 / 190C / 375°F

    In a bowl combine the milk, mustard and nutritional yeast

  3. 3

    In another bowl combine the breadcrumbs, flour and seasonings

  4. 4

    Dip each piece of tofu in the milk mixture then coat well in the flour mixture

  5. 5

    Either fry in the oil until each side is lightly browned or bake in the oven for 20 minutes turning halfway through

  6. 6

    Serve with baked beans, chips/fries, tomato ketchup, salad, whatever you like. My kids prefer the beans!
