Ingredients

  • 2 headof garlic, broken into cloves and peeled
  • 1 cupextra virgin olive oil

Steps

  1. 1

    Place the oil and garlic in a heavy saucepan and cook over medium low heat.

  2. 2

    Roast until the garlic cloves are soft and golden, 10 to 15 minutes.

  3. 3

    DO NOT LET BURN!

  4. 4

    Transfer to a heatproof bowl and let cool to room temperature.

  5. 5

    Use right away or place in a jar, cover, and refrigerate.

  6. 6

    The oil will keep for several weeks.

  7. 7

    Bring it to room temperature before using.

  8. 8

    *This recipe makes about 1 cup which is enough for 3 to 4 pounds of meat, seafood, or vegetables.*

  9. 9

    **This makes a great baste for grilled seafood or poultry.**

  10. 10

    ***You can also spoon it directly over grilled food once it's brought to the table.***

Some of my favorite things are family, friends, my pets, cooking, baking, football (Badger & Packer), Brewer baseball, college basketball, car racing, thrift stores, volunteering, and rummage sales. I have a 9 year old rescue dog, and 7 birds ( 6 are rescue) and they range in age from 1 year to over 19 years old. I volunteer for a dog rescue and a shelter, as well as other festivals and organizations.
