Steps

Wash rice and daal together and drain out the water.

In a big open pan add ghee and heat.Add mustard seeds,hing and Currypatta for tempering.

Add gr chillies Chopped.Add ginger paste and sauté a while.

Add cashews and stir.Now put rice and Dal.Mix all the things well.Add salt to taste.

Add turmeric powder.Stir nicely and add 2glasses of water and let it boil.

PONGAL is a delicacy of Tamil Nadu.Prepared in Sankranti.

After the rice and Dal is cooked add water as per the consistency required.

Serve hot topped with some more ghee.
