  1. 8 ozpkg fresh mushrooms
  2. 1lb. stew meat - beef or lamb
  3. 1 cupcarrots, sliced
  4. 3stalks celery, chopped
  5. 1/2 cuponion, chopped
  6. 3lb. boiled potatoes
  7. 1 tbspbeef soup base or demi-glace
  8. 3 1/2 cupwater
  9. 1/2 canGuiness stout or draft
  10. 1/3 cupsour cream
  11. 2 tbspworchestershire sauce
  12. 1/2 tspea. caraway seed, bay leaf, marjoram
  13. 1to taste salt and pepper
  14. 1 tspea. dill and gran garlic

Steps

  1. 1

    Saute mushrooms in butter until soft. add and brown beef cubes. Add carrots, lower heat and simmer 10 min. add onion and celery, cook til tender

  2. 2

    Add in all seasonings, drain boiled potatoes and cool slightly, add in all liquids except beer and sour cream. Simer on low.

  3. 3

    in empty potato pan, pour in beer and reduce by half. remove from heat and add in sour cream. add potatoes into soup, stir in creamy beer mix and serve immediately.
