Christmas Potpourri

When I was little, we lived in the mountains outside of Albuquerque. In the desert, the night air can be very brutal and drying. Hours before she went to bed, my mother would make this and leave it on the stove. She would watch over it and refill it as needed, but it made the entire house smell warm and inviting.

Steps
- 1
In a small to medium saucepan, fill with water three quarters of the way up. Add cloves, orange peels and cinnamon to your liking.
- 2
Set burner to low and bring to a slow simmer. Keep water three quarters of the way full to avoid burning ingredients. Enjoy! Note: this is a very strong scent combination. Only add enough cinnamon and cloves to your nose's liking.
