Ingredients

  1. 250 gmred Pumpkin (Kaddu)
  2. 1 litreboiled Milk
  3. 100 gmgrated Nolen Gur (Khajoor gud)
  4. 1 tbspDesi Ghee
  5. 1 tbspsugar (or more/less according to your taste for sweet)
  6. 1/2 tspsalt
  7. 1 tbspgrated Mawa
  8. 1 tbspdry Coconut powder
  9. 1 tbspCardamon powder
  10. 1 tbspchopped dry fruits
  11. Some Saffron strands (Keshar) dipped in warm milk.(Optional)

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash and peel off the hard skin of the Pumpkin and grate finely.

    Take a heavy bottomed pan and heat the ghee. Fry the grated Pumpkin adding salt and sugar in low medium flame till all the water dried up.

    Now add milk and stirr continuously. When milk start boiling, add grated gud,Mawa and coconut powder.

    Stirr continuously to get a thick consistency you want.

    Mix Saffron and Cardamon powder to the Kheer. Garnish with chopped dry fruits and nuts.

    Yummy and delicious Kheer is ready to serve.
