Ingredients

  • 4 eachboneless beef top loin or rib eye steaks, cut 3/4 inch thick
  • 1 tbspbutter or margarine
  • 2 tbspfinely chopped shallots or onion
  • 2 clovegarlic, crushed
  • 1 cupsliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1/4 cupready-to-serve beef broth
  • 2 tbspbrandy
  • 2 tspDijon-style mustard
  • 2 tspWorcestershire sauce
  • 2 tspfinely chopped parsley

    Melt butter in large nonstick skillet over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add shallots and garlic.

  3. 3

    Cook and stir 3 to 4 minutes.

  4. 4

    Remove and set and aside.

  5. 5

    Increase heat to medium-high, add steaks to skillet.

  6. 6

    Cook 6 to 7 minutes for medium rare(150), turning once. Remove to warm platter. Decrease heat to medium.

    Add broth, brandy, mustard, Worcestershire sauce and reserved mushroom mixture.

  8. 8

    Bring to a boil.

  9. 9

    Cook and stir until liquid is slightly reduced, about 1 minute.

  10. 10

    Spoon sauce over steaks and sprinkle with parsley.

  11. 11

    Serving suggestions: Sauteed grape cherry tomatoes tossed with hot cooked fettuccine & Alfredo sauce
