Ingredients

  1. 1 cuptuar/arhar dal
  2. 2green chillies finely chopped
  3. 2-3tomatoes finely chopped
  4. 1 tspginger paste
  5. 8-10curry leaves
  6. 2 tspjaggery
  7. 1/2 tspTurmeric powder
  8. 1 tspcoriander powder
  9. 1 tspsambhar Masala
  10. 1 tspred chilli powder
  11. 1 tspMustard seeds
  12. 1 tspCrushed methi dana /crushed fenugreek seeds
  13. 1/4 tsphing
  14. 1lemon juice
  15. 1/2 tspCoriander

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash & soak tuar Dal for 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Add dal, salt, turmeric powder, curry leaves, chopped tomatoes, green chillies, ginger and 3 cups water.

    Pressure cook dal until 5-6 whistles over medium heat.

    Once steam released. Blend dal with blender.

    Put it on gas for boiling. Add 1 cup water. Add Coriander powder sambhar Masala, jaggery and lemon juice. Boil for 4-5 minutes.

    Now take nonstick pan. Add mustard seeds. Once crackled add crushed methi dana and hing. Dry roast on slow flame. Add red pepper and saute for, 1/2 minute.

    Now add this dry roast Tadka on dal. Serve hot with rice.
