Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 2 cupschopped tomatoes
  2. 1 1/2 cupschopped and boiled mixed vegetables.
  3. (cauliflower, French beans, carrots, green peas etc.)
  4. to taste salt
  5. 1/2 tsp sugar
  6. To Be Ground Into A Smooth Onion Paste (using A Little Water) :
  7. 1 tbsp coriander (dhania) seeds
  8. 1 cupthinly sliced onions
  9. 1/2 tbsp poppy seeds (khus-khus)
  10. 1 inch ginger (adrak)
  11. 1 tbspcumin seeds (jeera)
  12. 2 - 3 cardamoms
  13. 1 small stick cinnamon (dalchini)
  14. 2 tspaniseeds (vilayati saunf) 25 mm
  15. 2green chillies , roughly chopped
  16. 2 cloves(laung / lavang)

Steps

  1. 1

    Combine the tomatoes with 1 cup of water in a broad non-stick pan,

    Mix well and cook on a medium flame for 4 to 5 minutes or till the tomatoes soften,

    , while stirring occasionally. Keep aside to cool slightly.

    Blend in a mixer till smooth. Keep the tomato pulp aside.

    Heat a non-stick kadhai, add cumin seeds,

    Add the onion paste and sauté on a slow flame for 2 to 3 minutes.

    Add the prepared tomato pulp, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes, while stirring occasionally.

    Add the mixed vegetables, salt and sugar, mix well and cook on a medium flame for another 1 to 2 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
