#zerooil Mangoes, both raw and ripe are available in abundance during summers. Here’s a simple non spicy recipe to be relished with steamed rice

Deskin and slice the mango in length wide. Discard the seed and hard core covering the seed

Keep them soaked in cold water for 10-15 minutes

Boil/semi cook the daal in a cooker by adding asafoetida, salt and turmeric
- 4
After the steam has subsided, transfer the daal in a wok and add the sliced mangoes
- 5
Add a cup of water and Cook covered until the mangoes soften
- 6
Add sugar and mix well

Check with a spatula on the softened of the mangoes, once done prepare the toasted tadka

In a non stick pan add mustard seeds, dry red chillies and dry roast until aromat
- 9
Immediately add them to the cooked daal. Mix well

Serve hot/at room temperature accompanied with steamed rice and subjis.
