Heat oil in a cooker saute onion, green chillies and ginger.

In the meanwhile keep 2 1/4 cups of water to boil in a sauce pan.

When the onions are soft add broken wheat and fry. Now add the vegetables and stir, if you like you can add peas and tomatoes also. When the colour of the broken wheat slightly changes add red chilli powder, hing, salt and saute.

Now remove cooker from gas and add the boiled water. Mix and stir and again keep the cooker on gas. Close the lid and cook.

When the whistle comes, cook for 5 min on low flame.

Open the cooker after 10 min. Broken wheat upma is ready. Remove in a plate and garnish with coriander leaves.😊
