Ingredients

  1. Baklava dough
  2. 1 cupflour (about 120 grams)
  3. 2 cupshot water (about 480 ml)
  4. 1small cup oil (about 60 ml)
  5. 2 tablespoonspowdered milk (about 16 grams)
  6. 1/2 teaspoonsalt
  7. 2 dropsvinegar
  8. 4 tablespoonssimple syrup (about 60 ml)
  9. 1 teaspoonghee (about 5 grams)
  10. Filling
  11. Clotted cream (or thickened cream)
  12. Pistachios

Steps

  1. 1

    Mix the dry ingredients and vinegar together. In a separate bowl, combine the water, ghee, oil, and simple syrup.

    Gradually add the wet mixture to the flour, kneading well.

  3. 3

    Let the dough rest for 1 hour. Divide into balls, coat each with oil, and let rest for another hour.

  4. 4

    Roll out the dough into thin layers, dusting with cornstarch. Brush each layer with ghee. Arrange 10 layers on the bottom of a baking pan and 10 on top. You can add more layers if you like.

  5. 5

    For the filling, use clotted cream and pistachios. Bake in the oven.
