Ingredients

15 minutes
5 servings
  • 1 cupDeseeded dates
  • 1 cupMilk
  • 1 tablespoonGhee
  • For stuffing:
  • 1 cupDessicated coconut
  • 1 tablespoonCondensed milk
  • For garnishing
  • 1 tablespoonSesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoonSprinklers

Steps

15 minutes
  1. 1

    First dry roast coconut powder till golden in colour and keep aside to cool.

  2. 2

    When coconut powder cools down, mix condensed milk and make very small roundels of it.

  3. 3

    Refrigerate ready coconut roundels for 15 minutes to set.

  4. 4

    Now add dates and half of milk in the mixer and make puree of dates.

  5. 5

    Heat ghee in a wok and add dates puree. Cook for 2 minutes and add remaining milk.

  6. 6

    Cook till the mixture forms a mass in the centre of the pan. Switch off the flame.

  7. 7

    Now let it cool completely.

  8. 8

    When dates halwa cools down then make small balls of it.

  9. 9

    Flatten halwa balls and keep ready coconut balls in the centre and seal edges properly.

  10. 10

    Garnish with sprinklers and sesame seeds.

  11. 11

    Refrigerate again for 1/2 an hour. Serve chilled. It tastes heavenly.
