Ingredients

  1. 1chopped yellow onion
  2. 4 clovesfinally chopped fresh garlic
  3. 2 tablespoonsextra virgin olive oil
  4. 4 ozshredded fresh basil leaves
  5. 1small can Contadina tomato paste or 1 tube Cento tomato paste
  6. 4 cansCento crushed tomatoes
  7. 1Glug of Red Wine

Cooking Instructions

    Warm olive oil in sauce pan then add chopped onion and sliced garlic and cook till translucent on medium high heat.

    Add basil leaves and tomato paste being sure to stir so paste and basil caramelize and don’t burn.

    Add tomatoes.

    Bring sauce to low boil add red wine then reduce heat to a simmer and allow to simmer 30 minutes. If adding meat at this step let simmer 2-4 hours.

    Use for Eggplant Lasagna.
