Pinoy Sweet and Sour Chicken

Ingredients

  1. 4boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into cubes
  2. 1 tablespoonsoy sauce
  3. 1 tablespoonsherry
  4. 1/2-3/4 cupcornstarch
  5. Oil for frying
  6. 1 tablespoonolive oil
  7. 2 clovesgarlic, chopped
  8. 1/2green bell pepper, diced
  9. 1/2red bell pepper, diced
  10. 1/2 cuppineapple chunks
  11. Sauce mix:
  12. 3 teaspoonsoy sauce
  13. 6 tablespoonwhite vinegar
  14. 1/4 cupsugar
  15. 8 tablespoonketchup
  16. 2 tablespoonwater
  17. 1 teaspoonWorcestershire sauce
  18. 1 teaspooncornstarch

Cooking Instructions

    Marinate the chicken pieces in soy sauce and sherry for 30 minutes

    Dip each piece in cornstarch and fry over medium heat until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

    In a bowl, mix ingredients for sauce. Set aside

    Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet. Saute garlic until light brown.

    Add peppers and sauce mix

  6. 6

    Bring to a boil

    Add chicken pieces and pineapples stirring well to lightly coat the chicken with the sauce.

    Transfer to a plate and serve immediately. Recommend having it with rice.
