Ingredients

15 minutes
  1. 2 cupspreviously cooked and cooled plain rice
  2. 3small carrots, grated
  3. Corriander, 1 bunch chopped
  4. 2medium onions, chopped
  5. Tumeric powder, 2 tea spoons
  6. Garlic, 4 cloves crushed
  7. 1 tablespoonSoy sauce,
  8. 1 tea spooncumin seeds
  9. I tea spoon, black pepper
  10. 1beef cube
  11. 2teaspoons, curry powder
  12. to tasteSalt
  13. 1.5 cupspre-boiled ndengu
  14. 3 tablespoonscooking oil

Steps

15 minutes
  1. 1

    In a heavy bottom sufuria, heat your oil and add your chopped onion

  2. 2

    Cook the onions until they soften, add the garlic and ginger

  3. 3

    When the onions start to brown, add your grated carrots and fry them until they soften

  4. 4

    Add your dry spices and soy sauce

  5. 5

    Add your Ndengu and simmer for about 3 minutes

  6. 6

    Stir thoroughly and add about half a cup of water to the ndengu

  7. 7

    Add your pre cooked rice, let it cover the Ndengu completely. Do not mix it in at this stage. Cover and reduce the heat to the minimum. Use a well fitting lid that will enable the rice to steam

  8. 8

    After about 4-5 minutes, using a fork mix the rice and Ndengu thoroughly

  9. 9

    Serve with a side salad (optional)

  10. 10
