Mix the Maseca with chicken broth or water until combined.

Add the spinach or Swiss chard, grated carrots, grated zucchini, corn, and oil. The dough should have more vegetables than anything else.

Place one or two heaping tablespoons of the mixture onto a corn husk or banana leaf, spread it slightly, then add cheese and salsa in the center. Close the husk or leaf so the tamale holds together in one piece.

Steam until fully cooked.
