
Scungilli in Hot Sauce

This is part of a traditional Italian Christmas eve dinner, you know, the one with the seven fishes, LOL
Everyone gathers around the table for this Christmas eve spectacular and the main star of the show of course is the Scungilli with Hot Sauce..... Some put it over pasta, and some just put it in a bowl accompanied by crusty bread for dunking. However you decide to enjoy it, don't forget the Red Wine a quality Chianti works great.......!!

Add olive oil to saucepan with chopped shallots and sauté till soft, about eight minutes.
Add chopped garlic and Hot pepper flakes and cook for an additional minute.
Add tomato sauce, basil oregano parsley black pepper and salt, Bring to a boil then add wine.
Reduce heat and simmer for one hour.
Add Scungilli just till heated through, about 3 to 5 minutes....... Enjoy.....!!
