I was always fasinated with pilau as a young boy, normally I could have it during special occasions but mostly during Jesus birthday( Christmas). I had the urge to know how to prepare it by myself. Ingredients

  • To serve eight
  • 1 kgmwea pishori rice
  • Beef half kg
  • Pilau masala
  • Ginger
  • Halfbulb garlic
  • Tomatoe paste,100grams
  • Salt
  • 4medium onions
  • 2 litresWater

Steps

  1. 1

    Boil the meat in salted water till tender.

    Crush garlic and ginger.

  3. 3

    Saute onions until golden brown.

  4. 4

    Add meat, rice, garlic, ginger and play masala.

  5. 5

    Cook over moderate heat until they brown for around 8 minutes.

  6. 6

    Add tomatoe paste.

  7. 7

    Cook while stirring until they mix well and thoroughly cooked.

  8. 8

    Add water to the rice mixture, bring to boil and cover with low heat(15-20 minutes) till water is arbsorbed and rice is cooked.

    I prefer served with kachumbari.
